fashion : ports 1961

during my recent visit to NYC, i was fortunate enough to be able to reconnect with a childhood friend, the very talented + whimsical ms. sara sakanaka, who had moved out there from LA to pursue her dream of becoming a fashion designer. it's so strange + wonderful to see someone that i've know all my life blossom into such a beautiful + strong individual pursuing her passion + yet during our conversation, it's as if time had never passed. ah~ memories + friendships are so valuable!

when meeting up with her, she had asked me to visit her at work, as the company she designs for recently moved locations to the meat packing district of new york. i had no idea who/what/when/how she was doing and was very curious as to what all her excitement about new york + work was all about! to my amazement, not only was the work she was creating beautiful, the clothes/shoes/bags were right up my alley! i loooooved everything!

if you're ever in NYC, i would highly recommend visiting~ and even the area that the store is located in is adorable!
