so excited! : etsy stalker

i just had to share some very happy news with you today! out of the blue, i received a msg from ms. curator beatrice stating that my ampersand tote on etsy {designDiapason} was featured in their ampersand exhibit on etsy stalker~ wow!

things like this really help me through tough times, especially mentally, when i wonder to myself if starting my own company is really the right path. there are times when i think, "maybe it's better if i were to just go work for a company, get a steady pay check and stop dreaming..." but when things like this happen, it makes me truly believe that chasing one's dream(s) is so important. i've been dreaming and running towards this goal for so many years now and i can't give it up. i just can't.

so thank you beatrice and the many others who, regardless if i've known you for all my life, a moment, or have never met you, your support is what keeps me going. your positive energy and influence is what allows me to pursue this dream.

the launch for the new company is underway and currently shooting to have the store up and running by the end of february/early march. depending on how production goes for the products and the photo shoot, things might change, but that's what i'm aiming for at this moment.

to whatever natural energy is out there right now helping things to move along in a positive direction, thank you so very much. it is not taken for granted.

milk magazine

i have been looking for some new/alternative interior design magazines to get my visual coffee kick as slowly, but sadly surely, many of the american interior design magazines are shutting their doors. recently i wrote about lonny magazine, which is an online-based interior design magazine and beauuutifully designed, but there's just something about paper + the tangible that my body yearns for... and well... i am a freak when it comes to magazines. i just love milk magazine! they even have an adorable blog~

the on going finland-obsessed series continues with kaksi-tva. described as:

i {heart} work : sanna annukka

happy new year everyone! i hope that you had a wonderful new years/holiday with loved ones and ate until your tummy hurt~ :p haha~

so to bring in the new year and first post of 2010, i wanted to share with you one of my obsessions lately. well, it's not really 'lately'... it's 'been' one of my visual obsession. i have always been very interested/intrigued by finnish design/art. the work is just gorgeous! one of my favorites being marimekko. ooooh yes.

but today, i wanted to write about another artist who i just happened to see a few years ago during a trip to london, when they were annoucing keane's new album release, and realized only recently that some other work i've been enjoying was created by the same person! go figure. if you are familiar with keane, big active (design agency in UK doing AMAAAZING work), then i think you know who i'm talking about. {sanna annukka}

２０１０年初のブログエントリーの記念に私がつい最近はまっているものを紹介したいと思います〜いや〜つい最近ではないですね。前からはまっているものと言えば東北／フィンランドのデザイン／アートです。特に出す気なのはmarimekkoです！おおおお〜〜いいね。

でも今日はフィンランド出身のアーテストについて書きたいのです。何年か前にロンドンへいったときにkeaneって言うアーテストのCDリリースがあり、そのときに彼のアルバムアートがすごくきにってよく覚えていました。そしたら、つい最近自分が気にっていたデザインとそのアーテストが同じ人物だとしりびっくりしました！本当にどう物事がつながるか。。。ふしぎです。あなたもkeane、またはbig active（ロンドンのデザイン事務所）をしっていたら、もう誰の話をしているかしっているかもしれませんね〜{sanna annukka}さんです！
